One Portuguese Band....

Today, I decided to offer you a portuguese music, from a portuguese band, together with some more pictures from my city.

Linda Martini

Linda Martini is a Portuguese Alternative-Rock band. Linda Martini was the name of an italian friend of Pedro Geraldes (guitarist). He met her when he was an ERASMUS student. The band has gathered lots of fans from the portuguese underground circuit.

Almost every member of the band have been on Punk-Rock/Hardcore bands before joining Linda Martini. They have released their first and only album, Olhos de Mongol, in 2006, and 2 EP's, Linda Martini (2005) and Marsupial (2008).

Their sound is very guitar-based, and the vocals don't take the center stage. However, they are recognised for having intelligent lyrics.

The Truth....

Good morning my dear students,

To be concrete, i will make you one simple question that can require a simple answer, but an answer that is quite difficult to achieve sometimes.

Can you find one Absolute Truth?
Give me suggestions, of one thing that you cant doubt at all.

I will be here waiting for your answers,
good luck,

Best regards,

Welcome to the Philosophical E-Meetings

Hello,
First of all I want to thank you all for keeping the curiosity on these internet e-meetings that we will have from now on.
This will be a student’s “society”, where the whole thing can be discussed, without any restrictions or limitations. This group has the determination to encourage each one of the students to be able to express his accepted wisdom, and his doubts about the world, about existence, about everything that can be able to be questioned.
To start, I think the best in this case, is to lead your first contemplations on these e-meetings, in a way that you start to realize how you should structure your track of thoughts for a dialog of this kind.

Discussion nr 1:
“cogito ergo sum” , which the translation to English would be: “I think, therefore I am”

Suggestion: try to think on this sentence and to understand what in fact the sense of this thought is, and meanwhile try to understand which is the path of thoughts to accomplish such sentence: “I think, therefore I am”.
Everything that you will say or think about it, is accepted inevitably and able to be conversed.
I would like you to say by your own words, what you think about this sentence during this weekend.
This is just the creation of something much more interesting.
I will stay here on this side waiting for your thoughts.

Introduction

Hello.

I will start the blog being thankful for your participation in our classes. I know that is quite hard to get comfortable speaking another language that is not your own mother tongue, but i guarantee you that i will try to make as much as in my power to make you the most comfortable as possible. My aim is to make you to feel freedom enough to be able to make random conversations in English in any corner of the world. You all seem to own a very good English level but like everyone you are just shy to give freedom to your English imagination.

Sunset:

On this last class, i gave you the power to use the "sunset" expression to make us to have our own metaphors in our class. I intend to have a class where you will feel free to make you to use your imagination without any barrier at all. That’s the good thing on being young, you can, and you should be free to release you imagination all over the world.

Conclusion:

I will bring different topics of discussion to each one of our classes, and this blog was made with the purpose that we can discuss everything even out of the school. We just have one hour per week, and this blog can be the chance for us, to extend the time that we spend together.

I hope that you all can participate in our blog classes, to make it the most interesting as possible. If you have any friend from your school that would like to participate in our blog, hyou can invite him/her. We are open to receive evryone that can be interested on sharing their ideas with us.
Thank you for your moment.
